COLLEGES GAA LEINSTER SH SEMI-FINALS Castlecomer CS 1-10 Dublin North 0-11:A CASTLECOMER goal in the 52nd minute was enough to see off an unlucky North Dublin colleges side in the Leinster SH semi-final at Clonad on Saturday.
Dublin had looked all over winners after containing an early Castlecomer effort and with Paul Winters scoring five points they led 0-9 to 0-6 at the interval.
Charles Dwyer was the main scoring threat for the Kilkenny college and his seven points proved significant.
Dwyer was moved into the full-forward line to almost immediate effect after 50 minutes, substitute Brendan Brophy taking his pass to shoot the game’s only goal to level the scores.
Ciarán Kilkenny’s long-range point put Dublin North ahead but points by Brian Cahill and Luke Maher and a sideline strike by Dwyer eased his side into the final against old rivals, St Kieran’s.
