David Duval became the second player in PGA Tour history to record more than $2 million in annual winnings with a two-stroke win at the World Series of Golf yesterday.
Duval carded a two-under-par 68 at the Firestone Country Club South Course and won with a 72hole total of 11-under 269.
Duval joined Tiger Woods as the tour's only $2 million men, using the $405,000 first prize to boost his 1998 earnings to $2,115,283. Woods set a single-season PGA record last year with $2,066,833.
Mickelson also closed with a 68 to stand alone in second place. Davis Love was third at eightunder 272. John Cook was on 276, one stroke ahead of Woods.

Brandel Chamblee won his first Tour victory taking the $2 m Greater Vancouver Open last night, beating third-round leader Payne Stewart by three strokes.
Chamblee earned $360,000 for the victory. He has only won $302,000 so far in 1998 from 20 events. Stewart led by one shot going into the final round, but Chamblee shot a five-under par 66, while Stewart closed on a 70.
