DAVID DUVAL, who has never won on the USPGA Tour leads Craig Parry by a single shot in the Houston Open.
Duval carded a seven under par 65 in the first round and added a 71 yesterday to lead by one shot from Craig Parry, who had rounds of 71 and 66, and fellow American David Ogrin (69, 68).
Three time champion Curtis Strange, who hasn't won a tournament since the 1989 US Open, shares third place with Phil Blackmar on 139.
Duval finished third in this tournament last year and has six runner up finishes in his career, including one at the Pebble Beach Pro Am in February.
Duval, who entered the tournament 21st on the money list with $331,465, did not seem to be putting undue pressure on himself to earn his first career win.
"You know, everything will come in due time," he said. "I spent this off season focusing on a few things I felt I needed to do to improve as opposed to travelling overseas and playing. If you continually strive to improve, you're going to win a lot in the future rather than win now and that's more important me.
