DUNDALK got off to a bad start at Oriel Park last night, but their fortunes turned at last.
The floodlighting failed just before the start, delaying the game for five minutes. Things did not improve after the kick off as the visitors took the lead after only five minutes when Leonard Curtis headed in a corner kick taken by Derek Tracey.
Dundalk new boys Robbie Devereaux and Fintan McConville began to get their grip on midfield, and the home side were level in the 16th minute when Joe Gallen headed in a cross from the right by Dundalk's man of the match, Raymond Campbell.
Joe Gallen struck again in the 31st minute with a spectacular lob that caught the Rovers goalkeeper Robbie Horgan by surprise.
Dundalk picked up two quick goals in the first seven minutes of the second half. The first came after good work between Gallen and Joe Hanrahan which gave Fintan McConville a chance to hit the goal of the match with a shot from just outside the area. Then, just four minutes later, Hanrahan added another with a good left footed shot.
