Cobh Ramblers 1 Bray Wanderers 2:A CONTROVERSIAL evening at St Colman's Park on Saturday could spell the end of Cobh Ramblers' Premier Division status as they were once again hit with a late goal which gave Bray Wanderers all three points.
The home side could only look on as, in the space of just over 10 minutes, a disallowed goal and the reversal of a penalty decision was followed by Mark Duggan's 89th-minute winner.
Davin O'Neill had opened the scoring on 41 after Daryl Kavanagh's cross missed Cobh striker Graham Cummins allowing the unmarked left winger to finish from close range.
Cobh pushed for a second but a Bray counter-attack in the 53rd minute saw substitute Paul Dunphy's cross find Ger Rowe who tapped in from a yard out.
A great Cobh move in the 71st minute ended with O'Neill's deep cross landing on the head of the Kavanagh who headed home only for referee Ian Stokes to blow for a push. As if that wasn't enough for the home dugout to contend with, Stokes' 82nd-minute decision to award Cobh a penalty was overturned by the referee on advice from his assistant just as Kevin Murray was preparing to take the kick.
Rowe turned provider for the winner when a penetrating cross from the right found Duggan who volleyed home.
