Former Irish rugby coach Mick Doyle was "critical but improving" yesterday according to a spokesperson for Beaumont hospital where he underwent surgery at the weekend.

Doyle was admitted to the Dublin hospital at the weekend after apparently suffering from a blood clot on the brain.
