Tyrone turned on the style in the second half to cruise to victory in an incident-packed game at Omagh. Both sides finished the game with 13 men following a rash of red cards for Antrim’s Mark McAleese and Niall McKeever and Tyrone’s Gareth Devlin and Michale Gallagher.

The teams went into the break deadlocked on 1-6 each, but Tyrone got in for a second goal through Emmet McKenna five minutes into the second half.

Jamie Clarke may have tasted disappointment when he lined out with Crossmaglen Rangers against Kilmacud Crokes in the AIB All Ireland Club final on St Patrick’s Day but he certainly acquired a generous measure of compensation last night when he almost single-handedly blitzed Cavan at the Athletic Grounds, Armagh. Clarke landed 1-6 of his side’s total, his sixth minute goal proving central to his team’s victory.
