Donabate is set for a revamp after the members gave the go-ahead for a new clubhouse, worth almost £3 million. Planning permission is to be sought for the new structure, which will cost £2.9 million, and which will replace the existing one, built in 1939. The new building will be a two-storey building and will include new dressing-room facilities, as well as function rooms and dining areas.
If everything goes according to schedule, and planning permission is received, it is hoped the new building will be completed by 2002.
