Donegal were beaten 0-13 to 1-7 by Antrim in the quarter-final of the Dr McKenna Cup in Belfast - but the defeat may be less important for the county than the sending off of John Joe Doherty.

The full back will be reported by Derry referee Anthony O'Neill for kicking, which could rule him out of the June championship date against Armagh. Tony Boyle scored the Donegal goal direct from a free.

Armagh moved into the semi-final thanks to a 2-11 to 1-7 win against Fermanagh. They led 0-7 to 1-2 at half-time - Dara McGrath had taken Fermanagh's goal in the opening minute. Armagh pulled away in the second half, when Des Mackin and Paul McGrane scored goals.
