DLSP put Bective out of cup

DLSP crushed Bective Rangers in Kilternan last night.

DLSP crushed Bective Rangers in Kilternan last night.

Having been stung by a Bryn Cunningham breakaway try in the 22nd minute, the home side moved up a gear and took the game by the scruff of the neck.

A three-minute period midway through the first half all but tied up the game for the home side when they crossed for two tries from John Corr and Eddie Davitt. Tommy James added two penalties early in the second half. On 56 minutes, Stephen Hayes burrowed his way through a mass of bodies to touch down and four minutes later Ken Wheelock repeated the dose to give the home side a 25-point advantage.

Sean Mallon's consolation try for Bective was too little too late and DLSP now face Lansdowne in the semi-final.
