For the second successive year, DCU beat Coleraine in the preliminary round of the Sigerson Cup although they needed a stirring second half display to secure their 0-15 to 0-9 victory.

Trailing by five points at halftime (0-7 to 0-2), DCU reeled off nine unanswered scores to set up a derby game against UCD in the first round proper on St Valentine's Day.
