Cork have made two changes in their team for Sunday's Munster senior football final against Kerry in Pairc Ui Chaoimh. Back into the side come Don Davis and Philip Clifford, both of whom missed the semi-final victory over Limerick.
Davis comes in at right-half forward for Alan O'Regan while Clifford, the Bantry player who captained the team in their National League final win over Dublin, will play at right corner forward in place of the injured Damien O'Neill.
Davis, who only played a bit part as a substitute in Cork's successful league campaign, played against Waterford in the first round and replaced Regan in the semi-final win over Limerick.
His inclusion means that Aidan Dorgan moves from the half forward line into the left corner while Mark O'Sullivan moves to full forward - the position occupied by O'Neill for the Limerick game.
Kerry's team will be released this morning. Sources close to the team believe that there will be only one regular player missing. This will be Noel Kennelly, son of Tim from the four-in-a-row team, who damaged an ankle while playing for Feale Rangers a couple of weeks ago and whose recovery has been slow.
Standing by to take over the centre forward spot are Liam Hassett or Billy O'Shea, although there has been some indication that Michael Francis Russell has made good progress in his fight for fitness.
It would be a surprise if he were to start the match, although a place might be found for him at some stage.
Terrace tickets for the match will be on sale at Pairc Ui Rinn today at 2.30.
Tickets for the Leinster football semi-final replay between Dublin and Laois will be on sale at Croke Park and the Leinster Council offices of the GAA in Portlaoise later in the week. Tickets will go on sale at the ticket outlet opposite the Hogan Stand on Friday next from 10 o'clock to 4.00 and in Portlaoise from 9.00 to 5.30. On Saturday they will be on sale at the same locations from 10.00 to 4.00.
The Sligo county board has given Mickey Moran two weeks to make up his mind on whether or not he wishes to remain as the manager of the county senior and under-21 teams. Moran was coaxed to continue with the side this year and was in charge of the team which was beaten by Galway after a replay in this year's Connacht championship semi-final.
In the National League, Sligo had a good run and will play in the first division next term. This fact may encourage Moran to continue with the side despite the long journeys from the north of Derry three times a week to take charge of training.
He recently estimated that he has clocked up 42,000 miles for the National League and Championship during the last year, including a weekly trip to Longford to take charge of a training session involving six of the Sligo squad who live in Dublin.
The Kilkenny team which won All-Ireland titles in 1974 and '75 will be honoured at a 25th anniversary banquet in the Newpark Hotel in Kilkenny on Monday, July 26th. They will also be introduced to the Croke Park attendance on All-Ireland final day.
The Dublin football team of 1974 will also be honoured by the Irish Nationwide Building Society before the All-Ireland football final.
