A second-minute goal from Barry Dardis helped Meath to a 1-3 to 0-5 half-time lead after playing against the wind.

Second half goals from Patrick Kennelly and Dardis gave Meath the cushion, although Offaly had chances before Joe Maher got a consolation goal in injury-time.

Offaly finished with 14 men when Peter Cunningham was red -carded in injury-time.
