Kevin Dalzell scored 13 second-half points, capping a 10point rally with a converted try in the final five minutes, as the United States, who meet Ireland in the opening game of the Rugby World Cup at Lansdowne Road on October 2nd, beat Canada 18-17 in the Pacific Rim tournament in Markham, Ontario, on Saturday.

Dalzell completed a stirring comeback when he squirted through a narrow gap to notch an injury-time try before converting his own score.

It was a heartbreaking defeat for the Canadians, who led 10-0 early on and 17-8 with less than 20 minutes left.

Canada had one chance in the closing seconds but John Graf's penalty kick from 22 meters was just wide.
