NHL DIVISION TWO: Offaly 1-17 Carlow 0-6:OFFALY HAD little difficulty in maintaining their unblemished record by reeling off a third consecutive win at the expense of an outclassed Carlow side in Tullamore yesterday.
Having dominated for most of the 70 minutes the home side ran out comfortable winners, bringing their aggregate tally from three games to 8-59.
Offaly’s top scorer was again Shane Dooley. He reeled off the first nine scores to give Offaly a 1-8 to 0-0 lead by the 21st minute, and with points from Daniel Currams, Derek Molloy and Joe Bergin they went in at the break ahead 1-11 to 0-1.
The second half, although not quite as one-sided, saw Offaly continue in the ascendancy. Carlow deserve credit for the way in which they refused to surrender. Indeed, in the second half they were outpointed by a mere 0-5 to 0-6.
