CLARE SHC FINAL Crusheen 2-13 Cratloe 1-11:CRUSHEEN MADE history at Cusack Park, Ennis yesterday when they won the Clare SHC title for the first time in their 123-year history. Having lost out on three previous occasions, Crusheen edged out last year's champions Cratloe, in front of 8,000 fans.
Crusheen got off to a dream start with a goal from Fergus Kennedy after 90 seconds.
Cratloe hit back with points from full-forward Conor McGrath and Cathal McInerney before Conor Ryan’s goal made it 1-2 to 1-0 ahead after just four minutes.
Three points from frees by Paddy Vaughan helped Crusheen to a 1-6 to 1-5 interval lead and they still led when substitute Paddy Meaney’s goal after 57 minutes sealed their deserved victory.
