CORK LINE-UP as selected so captain Graham Canty and Ciarán Sheehan are deemed fit enough to start. Neither man has much impact or manages to finish the game.
1 MINUTE: Niall Corkery launches a diagonal high ball that exposes Ray Carey for ball watching, allowing Bernard Brogan to sneak goal side, gather and fire a low shot into the corner of the net. Michael Shields is switched onto Brogan while Canty is dropped back on Eoghan O'Gara as Conor Counihan is forced to reassess his tactics.
10 MINUTES: Cork are racking up an alarming number of wides (nine in the first half) while Dublin corner-back Philly McMahon clips over his third point of the championship to leave Dublin in a surprise 1-2 to 0-2 lead.
11 MINUTES:Alan O'Connor bursts through the Dublin defence, hand-passes to Pearse O'Neill whose shot is well blocked by Stephen Cluxton. The majority of Cork attacks, however, are stalled around the 45 by the now trademark enthusiasm of Dublin's defenders.
17 MINUTES:The Cork defensive plan is blatantly not working yet, down the other end, Daniel Goulding skins Michael Fitzsimons only to punch over Cluxton's head and into the net. No goal. Alan Brogan pops up to make it 1-5 to 0-3.
30 MINUTES:Canty is struggling to contain O'Gara. He doesn't look fit; neither does Dublin wing-back Cian O'Sullivan – another just back from injury. O'Sullivan is replaced by Barry Cahill.
36 MINUTES:After a blazing shot by Paul Kerrigan rebounds off the post, Bernard Brogan brings his first-half tally to 1-4 in injury time.
HALF-TIME
Dublin lead 1-8 to 0-7.
41 MINUTES:Eoin Cadogan reappears instead of Canty, who aggravated his hamstring injury, but the hurling full back crumbles to the ground after a collision with Eoghan O'Gara. Maurice Deegan books O'Gara, reverses the Dublin free and throws the ball up. Ross McConnell grabs possession and fires a superb point.
45 MINUTES:Donnacha O'Connor registers another Cork wide, now in double figures, as Paul Flynn is introduced into the "free" role after David Henry ran himself almost into the dirt. A few minutes later Bernard Brogan – yet to miss – confirms Dublin's dominance with another point.
53 MINUTES:Cork need something dramatic to reduce the four-point deficit. Nicholas Murphy comes on and drags McConnell onto the square's edge where the Dublin midfielder relives the nightmare that was Seán Cavanagh in 2008. Murphy breaks a high ball for Colm O'Neill. Arms spread-eagled, McConnell bundles O'Neill over. Penalty. McConnell has just been yellow-carded for fouling Paul Kerrigan and is lucky to stay on the field. Donnacha O'Connor sends Cluxton the wrong way as, with the aid of the right post, his shot finds the net. Cork trail by a point, 1-10 to 1-9.
58 MINUTES:Dublin refuse to buckle with Bernard Brogan profiting from a dreadful pass out of defence by Michael Shields before Bryan Cullen lands his solitary point of the afternoon to make it 1-12 to 1-9.
68 MINUTES:Cork chip away at a visibly tiring Dublin, retaining their composure and drawing enough fouls within O'Connor's range to eventually level it up at 1-13 apiece. Hill 16 – responsible for a constant stream of noise – goes silent (except for the tiny red pockets).
69 MINUTES:Disaster for Dublin as McConnell is shown a second yellow and subsequent red card for an at best clumsy, at worst reckless, challenge on Noel O'Leary. O'Connor kicks the resulting free to put Cork ahead for the first time. Three minutes of additional time are announced.
71 MINUTES:Dublin attack once more but the momentum has shifted. Conal Keaney, in for O'Gara, is forced to shoot under pressure. Patrick Kelly blocks him down. Cork show enough composure to find an extra man, Derek Kavanagh, in space when Murphy cleverly switches play to him. Kavanagh points to make it 1-15 to 1-13.
73 MINUTES:Bernard Brogan kicks a point, to bring his tally to 1-7, but Deegan blows for full-time when Alan Quirke's kick-out is still in the air.
