MUNSTER U-21 FC Cork 1-17 Kerry 0-9: CORK STRIPPED Kerry of their Munster and All-Ireland under-21 titles in impressive fashion, scoring 1-15 from play at Páirc Uí Rinn on Saturday to set-up a semi-final with Waterford.
Despite playing against the strong wind in the first half, Cork led by 1-9 to 0-4 at the interval.
They got the ideal start with a first-minute goal from Colm O’Driscoll, who scored at the second attempt after his initial effort rebounded from the base of an upright.
Points from Ciarán Sheehan (two), David Goold and Shane McCarthy increased their lead before Gary Sayers opened Kerry’s account in the 12th minute. Senior players David Moran and Tommy Walsh were unable to influence matters and Cork were never troubled on the restart as Sheehan underlined his potential.
