DAVID CONNOLLY again impressed Ireland manager Mick McCarthy when he scored for the Irish under 21 team against a National League side in the friendly at Richmond Park last night.

The Watford striker's goal came in the opening seconds of the second half when he scored from the penalty spot after he was tripped in the penalty area. In the 55th minute Dominic Foley headed the under 21s into the lead.

The excellent Mick O'Byrne had given the National League the lead with a superb volley in the 15th minute, and the UCD striker equalised in the 88th minute with an equally good goal from the edge of the area.
