European Cup disciplinary chiefs were last night urged to punish French team Toulouse and their international prop Franck Tournaire.
Tournament director Roger Pickering has lodged a formal misconduct complaint following the unsavoury incidents that marred last weekend's Pool C clash between Toulouse and Ebbw Vale at Eugene Cross Park.
Tournaire, capped 28 times by France, is accused of threatening behaviour towards Scottish touch judge Rob Dickson.
Pickering, after studying video evidence and receiving written reports, also wants other unnamed Toulouse players and members of the club party to face action over related incidents.
These include the alleged jostling of Ebbw Vale players and security staff, and apparent attempts to enter referee Ed Murray's room.
"Although I have the utmost respect for the Toulouse club, its players and officials, the post-match incidents at Ebbw Vale were unsavoury and regrettable," Pickering said.
Tournaire was seen to approach Dickson after the final whistle, and a policeman's helmet was knocked off as Toulouse players vented their anger.
They lost the game 19-11, despite rattling up more than 100 points against Ebbw Vale only seven weeks previously, and saw prop Cyril Vancheri sent off.
Toulouse have since apologised to Vale, but they now find themselves in deep trouble.
