Irish International Graeme McDowell fired a tournament record 12-under-par 204 to take the individual honours and help lead the University of Alabama to victory at the Country Club of Louisiana Intercollegiate last week. McDowell, from the Rathmore club, had rounds of 70, 66 and 68, which was two better than the previous record.

The Ole Miss Rebels dropped four strokes to par on the 54th hole of the tournament to fall from first to third place, giving the UAB men's team the title in thrilling fashion. The Blazers won the tournament by shooting a tournament-record eight-under 856 (284-283-289), one stroke better than Auburn.
