Co Sligo ladies were celebrating on the double last week after winning the ILGU Western District, Lina Black Trophy for the second successive year.

After an opening round win over Enniscrone, Co Sligo went on to beat Strandhill, Murvagh and Ballinrobe before taking on Carrick-on-Shannon in a thrilling final that went all the way to the last match in the second leg.

In the first leg at Carrick, Co Sligo lost 4-1. However, on the return leg Peg Kilcawley won the decisive match on the 19th to give Co Sligo their second win in this much sought-after trophy.

The other members of the winning side were Pam Keyes (team captain), Mary Kennedy (Lady captain), Kathleen Keane, Rita Walsh, Catherine Johnston, Lillian Boyle, Una Howley and Jo O'Brien.
