Despite the appalling conditions St Clement's and Waterpark served up superb rugby in a six-try thriller in the Munster Senior Cup. The home side built up an eightpoint lead with a try from Daniel Jones and a Mike Reidy penalty. Waterpark responded with a two Paul Murphy tries and a Robbie Gaul conversion. St Clement's ran in three second-half tries from Reidy, Brian Fitzgerald and Padraig O'Sullivan with Reidy converting two.

Newtown School 24 - Midleton College 3
Newtown School advanced to the Junior Cup quarter-finals when they coasted to a comfortable victory over Midleton College at Newtown. Midleton got off to a dream start when outhalf James Hitchmough landed a penalty after five minutes.
However, two tries from Jamie Evans and one each from, Conor Grant and Stephen Pierce saw Newtown safely through.
