The Clare selectors have named the team which started the Munster semi-final against Cork for the Munster final against Waterford at Semple Stadium in Thurles on Sunday.

It will be remembered that manager Ger Loughnane played some mind games before the match against Cork but he now seems to have opted for a straight-forward selection. This means that the Lohan brothers, Frank and Brian, are side by side with Brian Quinn in the fullback line while Colin Lynch and Ollie Baker are teamed up in the midfield. In the attack Jamesie O'Connor, who was switched to and from the wing in the semi-final against Cork, is named in the centre forward position while the full forward line of Niall Gilligan, Eamonn Taffe and Alan Markham remains intact.

Neither Markham nor Quinn were included when the line-up was released to the press before the Cork game.

This is the first time that Waterford and Clare have met in the Munster final since 1938 when Waterford won by 3-5 to 2-5.
