CAMOGIE ROUND-UP:AN IMPRESSIVE display from Clare was not enough to get them over the line in their first game in Division One of the league following their promotion after last year's All-Ireland junior success.
They lost out by the narrowest of margins to Tipperary, 0-8 to 1-6 in Cashel, but were most unlucky not to come away with a draw.
Elsewhere, it was two wins out of two for Galway, who always held the upper hand away to Limerick in Ballyagran. Midfielders Ann Marie Hayes and Lorraine Ryan ruled the central area while Sinead Cahalan was commanding at centre back as Galway eased to a 3-10 to 0-1 victory.
In Division Two, there were triumphs for Tipperary and Waterford, while Antrim and Derry ended all square.
