CHELTENHAM altered the running order of today's Tripleprint Gold Cup meeting and put back the start by 10 minutes in a bid to make the Channel 4 coverage more attractive.
It swapped the four-runner George Stevens Handicap Chase, which was due to open the five-race TV programme, with the Bristol Novices' Hurdle, which has drawn a field of nine.
As a result a six-race card will open with the Handicap Chase at a new start time of 1.0 p.m., 10 minutes later than originally scheduled. The other races are similarly delayed with the final event five minutes later than scheduled at 3.45 p.m.
The changes were announced shortly after midday but too late for many evening papers, the majority of which were published with the original running order.
