Ulster MFC/Down 2-10 Tyrone 0-15: Down sensationally knocked reigning All-Ireland champions Tyrone out of the Ulster minor football championship at Omagh yesterday. A goal by midfielder James Colgan in the fifth minute of stoppage time stunned Tyrone.
Down got off to a dream start when Paul McCumiskey slid the ball to the net after three minutes.
Tyrone pulled back points through John Kelly, Conor O'Donnell and Cathal McCarron. After Martin Clarke and Tyrone substitute Niall McGinn had swapped scores, Down led by 1-4 to 0-6 at the break.
The sides were level on four occasions in the third quarter, before Colm Cavanagh gave Tyrone the lead for the first time.
Substitute Niall McGinn hit five points to give Tyrone what looked at the time to be a match-winning two-point advantage. But the game finished in explosive fashion. Seán O'Neill was sent off on a second yellow card and, after Tyrone had failed to clear the resultant free, Colgan seized possession and blasted to the roof of the net.
