Ulster MFC First round Cavan 1-13, Antrim 1-5: Cavan produced a top-class performance at Breffni Park yesterday to qualify for the semi-finals.
Antrim scored first through Ciarán McGourty after a minute, but the teams were level three times before Raymond Galligan's point made it 0-4 to 0-3 to Cavan at the break.
Cavan took control in the second half and with 15 minutes left led by 0-9 to 0-3. Antrim's goal came three minutes later when full forward Tomás McCann finished a fine move.
Cavan recovered to dominate the remaining quarter with points from Enda Gaffney and Cian Mackey and Gaffney's opportunist goal sealed a convincing victory.
