Ulster MFC: Sharpness in front of goal helped Cavan win this Ulster minor football championship clash at Casement Park, yesterday.
Antrim opened with a point by Kevin Niblock and were 1-2 to 0-1 ahead on 11 minutes - the goal hit home by Patrick Cunningham. Cavan took over through Michael Lyng's accuracy from free-kicks and by the break Cavan led 0-8 to 1-2.
Cavan were 0-10 to 1-3 ahead midway through the second half but Antrim responded with points from Cunningham, Owen Mullan and Declan McKay but they couldn't get on terms as the teams exchanged late points.
Saturday's minor replay between Derry and Tyrone was postponed due to the death of Patricia Bateson (19), sister of Derry's James Bateson. It has been refixed for Wednesday evening at Casement Park (7.30).
