Cavan 0-11 Fermanagh 0-7:CAVAN CRUISED to victory at Kingspan/Breffni Park yesterday but failed to secure promotion to Division Two as Fermanagh recorded 19 wides. The already-relegated visitors flattered to deceive as they eased their way into a 0-4 to 0-2 lead after 22 minutes.
Cavan consolidated their 0-6 to 0-5 interval lead with a point apiece from Mark McKeever and Gareth Smith inside 90 seconds of the restart. But Fermanagh kept nipping away at Cavan’s heels and a Daryl Keenan point on the three-quarter hour mark cut Cavan’s lead to 0-8 to 0-7. Fermanagh goalkeeper Ronan Gallagher pulled off a fine save to deny David Givney a goal chance in the 65th minute.
