IRISH tennis Olympian Owen Casey maintained his challenge to qualify for the Masters event for the second successive week on the Indonesian satellite circuit on Saturday.
Casey was still suffering from a virus when brought into a final set, partnering Martin Bok of Holland, in the abandoned doubles semi final against Australians Blake Brinklow and Andrew Bates.
The match had been washed out with Casey and partner leading by 6-3 5-3 on Friday night. When play resumed on Saturday morning the Australians pushed the issue all the way but Casey and Bok survived 6-3 6-7 6-4. In the final Casey and Bok lost to a new Zealand US partnership of James Gregehalgh and Rob Chess 6-3 6-4.
