CARLOW RTC are through to their first ever women's Intervarsity championships final.
They beat DCU in the semifinal at Belfield but had to come from behind for the right to face holders University of Limerick.
In a game dominated by a very strong breeze Ann Marie Cox put the Dubliners ahead shortly before the break but Mary Kehoe whose goal had put them into the semi final again came to the rescue when she went down the left wing and her deft flick restored parity. Julianne Coogan secured victory with 12 minutes left.
In the other semi final the holders, Limerick, advanced thanks to two Eilis Strappe goals - one in either half against Waterford RTC. Limerick were always coasting but will need to be sharper in front of goal to retain their trophy.
