The former champion jockey returned from almost a month on the sidelines with a Grade One success on Aran Concerto here on Sunday in the Powers Gold Cup.

There is no such prize on offer today but Jaamid can recover a place in Carberry’s affections by winning the Beginners Chase.

It was off Jaamid that Carberry suffered a collapsed lung and a liver tear during the Cheltenham festival but a 123 rating gives Noel Meade’s versatile sort a clear chance this afternoon.

Carberry also looks a significant booking by Colm Murphy for The Wandering Man in one of the maiden hurdles.

The lightly raced nine-year-old recovered from 15 months out of action with a decent fourth to Fosters Cross at Navan and with the Murphy team in form he can get the better of Drive On Regardless.

Whispering Hills only just failed to beat the highly rated Universal Truth at Punchestown on his last start and should be able to make it third time lucky in the bumper.
