MANCHESTER UNITED'S attempt to win the FA Cup and Premiership double for the third time in four seasons has been hit by a two game suspension for Eric Cantona.

The Frenchman was booked during United's FA Cup fourth round drawn game with Wimbledon at Old Trafford on Saturday. He was shown the yellow card, which takes him past 21 disciplinary points, by referee Graham Poll for diving in the Wimbledon penalty area.

It is Cantona's first suspension since his punishment for the infamous attack on a Crystal Palace supporter at Selhurst Park. Coincidentally, Saturday was the second anniversary of that incident.

The suspension takes effect from February 8th meaning Cantona will miss the fifth round home tie against QPR if United win next week's replay against Wimbledon, as well as the Premiership game at Arsenal on February 19th.
