Ronaldinho XI - 6 Shevchenko XI - 3: Southampton striker Henri Camara stole the show in the second half as Ronaldinho's side outwitted Andriy Shevchenko's team in the superstar-backed tsunami appeal match at the Nou Camp last night which is expected to raise €8 million.
The Senegalese frontman grabbed two goals in the goal feast, while former Chelsea hero Gianfranco Zola was on target for the losing side.
Football's biggest names came to Barcelona to show their support for victims of the South Asian St Stephen's Day disaster, with England stars David Beckham and Steven Gerrard both in action.
Like Camara, Ronaldinho's Barcelona team-mate Samuel Eto'o scored twice for the Brazilian's team.
Further strikes from Cha Du-Ri and Ronaldinho himself were warmly received by a crowd estimated at 40,000, with Alessandro Del Piero and David Suarez joining Zola on the scoresheet for Shevchenko's team.
The night began badly with some whistling during the minute's silence in honour of the victims of the tsunami.
Then the game began at a slow pace, typical of such occasions, with many of the players on show determined to preserve their energy ahead of important Champions League matches.
Eto'o was the first player to make an impact. Urged on by his home crowd, the Cameroon international had one shot charged down before making the breakthrough after 13 minutes.
AC Milan midfielder Kaka set him clear in the penalty box and Eto'o poked the ball home from 12 yards.
Ronaldinho's side increased their lead soon afterwards, with the FIFA Player of the Year himself on target, with Kaka again the supplier. His shot was blocked, but Kaka showed awareness to cross for Ronaldinho to tap in.
Eto'o, officially named African Player of the Year last night, could have got another goal midway through the first half but tried to do too much in front of goal, teasing Sebastian Deisler and eventually hitting the post.
Shevchenko shot wide at the other end before Del Piero reduced the deficit by controlling well a long pass from former Juventus team-mate Zidane and slotting home inside the penalty area.
But the two-goal advantage was restored a minute before half-time as Eto'o intercepted a poor back pass, rounded Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas, and walked the ball into an empty net.
Veteran Zola came off the bench to pull a goal back for Shevchenko's side three minutes after the interval. The Stamford Bridge legend received a pass from Ludovic Giuly and lobbed substitute goalkeeper Carlos Kameni from 15 yards.
And Shevchenko's team were level five minutes later when Cagliari striker David Suarez fired home from the edge of the box.
Then came Camara's intervention, with the striker who is on loan to Southampton from Wolves via Celtic grabbed his quick-fire double. He put Ronaldinho's men 4-3 ahead on the hour mark with a snap shot from 18 yards, then added a second five minutes later by finishing neatly after collecting a pass from deep.
Du-Ri's 79th-minute strike, firm from to the right of the penalty spot, put the seal on victory for Ronaldinho's men, with Camara claiming the assist and the Korean firing past Francesco Toldo.
