SARACENS HOOKER Schalk Brits has been banned for three weeks after admitting committing a dangerous tackle during his team’s Heineken Cup win against Treviso last Sunday.
South African Brits was cited following the tackle on Treviso wing Benjamin de Jager at Vicarage Road.
Edinburgh’s Sean Cox received a one-match ban after pleading guilty to striking Shontayne Hape of London Irish in their Pool Two game but Hape was the bigger loser out of the game as he was suspended for four weeks for a dangerous tackle on David Denton.
Meanwhile, Saracens have scrapped plans to play their home Heineken Cup game against Biarritz in Cape Town. The Aviva Premiership champions say the group game, scheduled for January 14th, will now take place in London.
It would have been the first Heineken Cup match to be staged outside Europe.
