BRIGHTON could be in further trouble with the English FA after two pitch invasions by supporters during their 3-1 English third division home defeat against Lincoln.

In April, Brighton received a suspended FA sentence after a riot caused the abandonment of a game with York which was eventually replayed at the end of the season.

The FA may decide the latest outburst requires even tougher action against the crisis club, who are without a home for next season after the sale of the Goldstone Ground and now face the possibility of being relegated to the Vauxhall Conference.

The entire Brighton board were absent from the directors' box including chief executive David Bellotti who had been advised by police to stay away from the game after he had received threats.

But it only seemed to strengthen the wrath of supporters, angry that talks between the board and the consortium headed by Dick Knight which wants to take over had broken down on Monday.

The first disturbance was sparked by Gareth Ainsworth's 25th minute goal which led to a 12-minute delay with the players returning to their dressing rooms. The second stoppage came at the final whistle.
