LEE BOYLAN scored twice as Maurice Price's Irish youths had to come from behind on two occasions to salvage a point from their opening UEFA group four qualifier at Dalymount Park last night.

The visitors took advantage of an Irish error to take the lead on 23 minutes. Ross McNally's attempted hook over Ronny Pedersen didn't come off and the Dane chested the ball down to lob it over Paul Whelan in the Irish goal.

However, Ireland equalised just three minutes later, when an Anthony Folan corner was met at the near post by Boylan, whose header flashed to the net past the goalkeeper Morten Nielsen.

Denmark went back in front on 59 minutes, when Foldgast played the suspiciously offside Stefan Hansen through and he slotted under the advancing Whelan.

Ireland once more responded positively and were level again seven minutes later. Damien Duff beat his marker out on the left, and though Nielsen parried his cross, the ball broke kindly for Boylan who shot home from 10 yards.
