The Kerry football team were caught on the hop last weekend, but The Bomber Liston looks set to complete his own three-in-a-row in the nursery at Cork this afternoon.
The equine namesake of the Kingdom's former outstanding full forward broke his duck at Sligo a month ago, before appearing to put in a much improved performance to beat Cobourg Lodge and Thunder Cave up the Curragh. Both those races were over six furlongs, and the Jim Bolger-trained colt reverts to the minimum distance today. However, it shouldn't be a problem as he showed a lot of early pace to be prominent throughout at the Curragh and he proved he can act on a cut in the ground at Sligo.
Blue Lotus is an admirably consistent type but has to lump 9-10, even with a claim, while Wish List is another to respect. However, The Bomber Liston is clearly improving for his racing and Bolger looks to have found an ideal opportunity for him here.
An interesting clash looks to be in store between Fairy Ridge and Have Merci in the three-year old hurdle.
