BOLD DEMAND was yesterday the subject of an Epsom Derby gamble following rumours that Frankie Dettori had chosen the horse as his ride. The Godolphin horse, winner of a maiden at Sandown on Tuesday night in the hands of Dettori, was backed from 66 to 1 down to 25 to 1 to take out over £150,000 with William Hill.
However, a spokeswoman for Godolphin, who also have Stowaway as a possible starter, said: "No decision has been made as yet."
Kieren Fallon will find out on Monday whether he will be free to ride Symonds Inn in the Derby. Fallon picked up a four day ban at Doncaster on Saturday and a 10 day ban in Rome last Sunday after an incident in the Italian Derby.
But the first three days of his Rome suspension would run concurrently with the last three of his Doncaster ban, meaning he would be sidelined for 11 days and miss the Derby meeting. But there is a chance that the dates (June 3rd-12th) of his Italian ban could be deferred.
