LEAGUE OF IRELAND PREMIER DIVISION Bohemians 3 Dundalk 0:CHAMPIONS BOHEMIANS got their title challenge back on track in front of 1,615 fans with a convincing win over Dundalk at Dalymount Park last night.
Bohemians started sluggishly but settled down and Mark Quigley had attempts on goal on nine and 14 minutes before Dundalk goalkeeper Matt Gregg made a close-range save from Gareth McGlynn on 16 minutes. Owen Heary tried his luck with a drive from 25 yards on 20 minutes but the ball flashed over the crossbar.
A magnificent Bohemians move on 24 minutes culminated in a weak shot from McGlynn.
Paddy Madden wasted another chance for Bohemians on 37 minutes when he smashed the ball high and wide. But Madden made no mistake on 50 minutes. When the visiting defence failed to clear the striker pounced to tuck a low shot past Gregg.
Dundalk had substitute Michael McGowan sent off for a tackle on Raffaele Cretaro and from the free kick Ruaidhri Higgins netted number two on 86 minutes before Gareth McGlynn curled the third past Gregg on 90 minutes.
