PORTADOWN 0 BOHEMIANS1, BOHEMIANS WIN 3-1 ON AGGREGATE:BOHEMIANS eased into the quarter-finals with a single goal win over Portadown to add to last week's 2-1 home leg win.
After their strike-force missed a bagfull of chances midfielder Adam Martin popped up 10 minutes from time to settle the tie.
Bohemians should have won much more comfortably. The main culprit in the missed chances stakes was striker Dinny Corcoran – he could easily have bagged a hat-trick.
Three times he found himself through on goalkeeper David Miskelly and each time he fluffed it although much credit has to be given to the big Portadown man.
It simply wasn’t Corcoran’s night for the winner came as he watched from the sidelines with the Martin decider hitting the back of the net just three minutes after he was substituted.
Most of the first half action was squeezed into just 10 minutes between Corcoran’s first miss and big centre-half Ewan McMillan hitting the Portadown post with a wonderful header.
It was touch and go until Martin pooped up with that priceless winner and sadly the immaculate Miskelly must take a share of the blame as he seemed to loose the flight of the ball.
