Sheffield Wednesday 0 Blackpool 3:BLACKPOOL EARNED a trip to Everton after a scintillating demolition of Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough.
The game was effectively won in the opening 15 minutes as Matt Phillips continued his red-hot scoring streak with a precise finish and Lomana LuaLua curled in a superb effort soon after.
The Seasiders produced an outstanding attacking display and they made it three shortly after the break with another goal of sheer quality, Ludovic Sylvestre bending in from the edge of the area.
It could, and perhaps should, have been more but with the quality of all three goals, Blackpool manager Ian Holloway will have seen enough to be confident of going to Goodison Park and forcing a result in 11 days.
For Wednesday, it was a night to forget, although with an League One promotion assault to concentrate solely on now, boss Gary Megson may not be too disappointed.
