The Special Olympics Ireland and Respect will be the beneficiaries from the Mitsubishi Motors-Des Smyth golf classic which takes place at the Royal Dublin on Monday, July 26th. The event, organised by the Links Golfing Society, is expected to raise in excess of £60,000 for the two charities.
Special Olympics Ireland provides year-round sports training and competition programme for people with learning disabilities, and Respect is the fundraising organisation of the Daughters of Charity, which provides a service for over 2,000 adults and children with a mental handicap. Tour players Eduardo Romero, Angel Cabera and Joe Coceros will join stars from the world of sport and entertainment including Joe Dolan, Red Hurley, Paddy Cole, Pat Jennings and Charlie Swan at Royal Dublin.
