Bernstein, already generally quoted at 12 to 1 for next year's 2,000 Guineas, will bid to keep his unbeaten record in Sunday's Anglesey Stakes at the Curragh.

The Storm Cat colt won his second start in the Railway Stakes on Derby day and was confirmed a weekend runner by Aidan O'Brien yesterday.

"We may run Buffalo Berry and something else in the race too as there are not many places for winners to go. Bernstein is in good form," said O'Brien who has seven of the 17 entries in the Anglesey.

The Ballydoyle trainer also said that tonight's Tipperary runner Finnan is being considered for the Group 2 Prix Robert Papin at Maisons Laffitte in two weeks time but his more immediate concern is the ground for Sunspangled and Carambola in Sunday's Irish Oaks.

"If it is good, things will be alright but I can see how the Curragh have to be fair to everybody. Like Sunspangled, Carambola likes an ease in the ground too," said O'Brien.

Orpen was the only one of four entries not to get the green light for today's July Cup and O'Brien is now considering the Group 1 Prix Maurice De Gheest at Deauville for last year's Prix Morny winner.

French trainer Jean De Roualle reported yesterday that his Irish Oaks entry Comillas has been left in the race by error and will not take part.
