The Irish International pairing from Beaverstown, Gary Cullen and Martina Gillen won their first East of Ireland Mixed Foursomes championship at Luttrellstown Castle yesterday when their 226 total for the 54-hole event gave them a two-shot win over the husband and wife pairing of Niall Goulding and Una Purfield.

After an opening five-over par 77, the Beaverstown pair added an excellent level par 72 in the difficult gale force wind to lead by one going into the final round. As the wind took its toll, Cullen and Gillen's 77 was enough to hold off the challenge of Goulding and Purfield who shot 78 in the last round.
