GERMAN BUNDESLIGA:BAYERN Munich were dealt a blow ahead of the visit of Manchester United in the Champions League tomorrow evening as they slumped to a second successive 2-1 defeat in the German Bundesliga.
Opponents Stuttgart came from behind, like Eintracht Frankfurt did last weekend to stun Bayern, who lost their place at the top of the table to Schalke 04. The latter beat third-placed Bayer Leverkusen later that evening.
Everything seemed to be going according to plan when Ivica Olic put the Bavarians in front in the 32nd minute, but Christian Trasch equalised just before half-time.
A Ciprian Marica header early in the second half earned Christian Gross’s side all three points and took them up to seventh in the table.
Bayern coach Louis van Gaal decided to leave Arjen Robben on the bench, most likely with an eye on the match against United.
Danijel Pranjic took his place while Franck Ribery was also a substitute but both players were drafted in at half-time, but that was to no avail as seventh-placed Stuttgart took the points.
