BRIAN BARNES had to be content with only a share of the lead after the first round of the Scottish Seniors Open after shooting a 68 at Newmacher, Aberdeen, yesterday.

Club professionals David Huish from North Berwick and David Snell from Worksop matched the tournament favourite's four under par.
