With five of the current Galway senior team on duty, St Mary's, Athenry, were always in control of their AIB All-Ireland club hurling championship quarter-final against the London title holders St Gabriel's at Ruislip yesterday.
Two goals in the space of three minutes midway through the second-half by man-of-the-match Eugene Cloonan and Cathal Moran, ended the game as a contest.
Noel Dunne revived St Patrick's hopes with a well-taken goal 14 minutes into the second half, but St Mary's held firm.
