Impressive Athenry coasted to their fourth All-Ireland Schools' title in six years when they defeated a below-par Roscrea Vocational School at Banagher. Athenry were boosted by a PJ O'Brien goal in the fourth minute, and with four minutes left in the first half, Athenry strung together four points to leave them 1-5 to 0-3 at the interval.
Thirteen minutes into the second half it was looking increasingly ominous for Roscrea. They trailed 1-9 to 0-3 and Athenry went on to seal another All-Ireland with late scores from Cathal Coen (2), David Forde and Kevin White.
